How it works:

Laser Acne Treatments are an effective solution for acne by treating the overactive sebaceous glands. using controlled heat to penetrate deep into the skin’s cellular layer, it limits production of sebum (skin oil) which acne requires to thrive. The laser's energy also kills acne causing bacteria by stimulating the compounds called porphyrins.

~Laser Acne treatments uses Laser Genesis to improves acne scarring in two ways. First, the laser collapses superficial blood vessels on your skin treating and reducing scaring redness caused by acne. Next, it promotes skin turnover and the production of healthy collagen at the cellular level to diminish acne scars and improve texture. It also helps to shrink pores, fine lines, and smooth rough skin.

What do treatments feel like?

BBL Forever Clear, You may briefly feel a warm or quick snapping sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas.

As for laser acne treatment is two steps, first targeting the active acne, where you would feel contact of the sapphire cooling tip of Cutera's proven long-pulse 1064 nm Nd:YAG on the skin followed by a pulse from the laser, it can be a bit uncomfortable but quick. Once all active acne is treated the treatment is accompanied by Laser Genesis to treat redness and scarring, which is a warm sensation in targeted areas, sometimes feeling a little hot at times however, tolerable. Some people compare it to sunlight in a concentrated area. Some areas are more sensitive than others. You may experience some mild redness shortly after treatment, this should resolve within a few hours.

How to prepare for my appointment?

If possible please arrive with no make up. Clients must be off Accutane for six months prior to treatment. Avoid vitamin A creams such as Tretinoin, retinoids, retinols, hydroquinone (skin lighteners), benzoyl peroxide, glycolic or AHA’s 10% or stronger for 5 days prior to your appointment.

Also avoid excessive sun exposure 2 weeks before the treatment. Make sure to wear a mineral SPF 30 or higher everyday before and after the treatment, reapplying every 2 hours is key. Following your treatment you should avoid excessive sweating from exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and very hot showers for 24 hours. There is still heat from the laser in your skin so this can cause irritation.

When should I expect results?

BBL Forever Clear For best results, we recommend a series of 4 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart. Most patients report seeing improvements after one treatment, and optimal results are achieved at three months following the final treatment.

Laser Genesis treatments can offer excellent results, it helps support your fight against it by slowing down or killing the bacteria that causes it. Also helping with scarring redness and texture. While the number of treatments varies for each individual, generally 4-6 sessions are recommended spaced 2 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments may be needed.
